Our Approach

                                                MINDFUL

THE BOY&I takes a considered approach to design and manufacturing, creating contemporary, high-quality pieces in small quantities. We work with natural fabrics including organic cotton, European flax linen and silk, alongside traditional dyeing and Shibori techniques.

Our Australian-made garments are crafted by skilled makers in Sydney. We personally collect each piece using reusable garment bags and hangers, eliminating the need for plastic during transportation. When packaging is required, we use 100% compostable postbags.

Our Travels Collection extends this approach beyond Australia, working in collaboration with skilled artisans in Indonesia. Each collection celebrates traditional craftsmanship and techniques, including hand weaving, stone washing using volcanic rock and organic dyeing processes.

Working between Australia and Indonesia allows us to support different makers, skills and traditions while maintaining the same considered approach to every piece we create.

For us, being mindful is not about being perfect. It is about making considered choices, producing in small quantities and creating clothes designed to be worn and loved for years to come.
